ATLANTA HISTORY CENTER

Initially founded as The Atlanta Historical Society in 1926, the organization worked to for decades collecting, researching, and publishing information about Atlanta and the surrounding area. The Atlanta History Center enlisted RED SQUARED to develop and brand several series of digital media around forthcoming exhibits, artifacts and special projects to cross promote between the museum and their various outreach channels.

Brief

Atlanta History Center partnered with RED SQUARED to help develop, brand, and produce a digital video series that would expand the reach of the museum’s exhibitions and programs. From legacy celebrations to emerging cultural movements, we’ve helped translate archival depth into modern, visual storytelling that meets people where they are.

Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom

We often point to Juneteenth: An Origin Story as the moment that crystallized what this partnership could be. The short film blended personal storytelling, spoken word, and powerful visuals that honored Black freedom while inviting present-day reflection. It marked a shift toward emotionally resonant, community-facing storytelling that now defines our work with the Center.

Oral History in Action: Andrew Young

Our work deepened through an intimate filmed interview with Ambassador Andrew Young, chronicling his life from the civil rights movement to city hall to the White House. This piece expanded the Center’s approach to oral history and it helped center voice, presence, and legacy with cinematic care.

Where It Began: Women of Resolve

Our partnership officially began with Women of Resolve, a video series honoring women whose contributions to Atlanta shaped its political, cultural, and civic landscape. We crafted a visual style that blended archival photography and contemporary interviews to highlight generational strength, activism, and creativity. The series was featured across AHC’s digital channels and incorporated into live programming.

" Working with RED SQUARED was a game-changer for us. Their skill and ability really gave us great opportunity to create something great"

Animating History: Oral Stories for Exhibit

As part of an exhibit series, we worked with Atlanta History Center to transform oral histories into short, animated films. These stories were drawn from interviews with local veterans and were brought to life through motion graphics, archival material, and voiceover narration.

Still In The Making

We are looking forward to a future collaboration on a project called Atlanta The Great, a growing digital series that will explore the people, places, and culture that define the city’s influence. We know that our ongoing work will continue to push the boundaries of what museum-based storytelling can be; engaging, modern, and deeply rooted in the voices of the city.
