CENTER FOR MISSISSIPPI FOOD SYSTEMS
An emerging statewide initiative focused on reshaping Mississippi’s food economy through equity, storytelling, and grassroots collaboration, the Center for Mississippi Food Systems partners with RED SQUARED to document its gatherings, elevate local food leaders, and launch a modular campaign across video, photography, web, and social media platforms.

Project Scope
✱ Strategic Story Development
✱ Documentary Video Production
✱ Photography & Social Content
✱ Website Design & Launch Support
We’ve worked closely with the Center for Mississippi Food Systems from its earliest days, serving as an embedded partner in documenting its growth and shaping how the story of food justice in Mississippi is told. From covering every statewide gathering to building out their website and producing a modular documentary series, RED SQUARED has supported this initiative with media, messaging, and care.
Through multimedia, we highlight the voices of farmers, advocates, organizers, and policy leaders. These events, rooted in relationship-building and systems change, are now documented in a growing visual archive that reflects the scale and spirit of the movement.
Gatherings From The Ground Up
Notes From The Field: A Modular Documentary Series
To bring the work to life beyond the convenings, we developed “People & Places”, a flexible, modular film project that can be used as a full-length documentary or broken into stand-alone shorts. Through first-person storytelling and grounded visual language, the series explores Mississippi’s complex food systems through the lived experiences of those working to transform them.
“RED SQUARED helped us find the visuals to match the heart of our work. Their care, cultural grounding, and creativity made them feel like a core part of our team.”
